Education
Denise earned an Associate of Arts & Sciences Degree in General Studies from VHCC in 1984 and a bachelor’s in Mass Communications from Emory & Henry. She also holds a certificate in Fundraising Management from the Lily School of Philanthropy.
Career
She joined King University in 2011 as Director of Annual Giving and now serves as the university’s chief fundraising officer in her current role as Acting Vice President for Development. She previously worked in the Development Office at Emory & Henry College, and has also held jobs in public relations and advertising throughout her career.
Awards & Personal Life
She is active in the community as a member of the Bristol Noon Rotary Club and the Justin Foundation Board, and assisted the Amercian Heart Association with its annual Queen of Hearts Campaign for many years, She has earned many awards for her professional accomplishments, including the Hope Award from Emory & Henry in 2010 and a PRSA Tri-Cities Chapter Award of Excellence. Denise met her husband, Allen, while they were both enrolled at VHCC. They recently celebrated their 28th anniversary and have two children - Ryan, who is enrolled in the MBA Program at King, and Kayla, who is a sophomore at Abingdon High.
